What are podcasts?
A podcast is a free subcription service for audio. It makes it easy to download the latest recordings to your computer or portable audio player. Simply subcribe to a channel and you will automatically receive a list of all new episodes as they are published. You can then download the episodes you want to hear and then listen whenever you want on your computer or portable mp3 player.
What tools do I need?
Download ITunes, Juice, or any other podcasting software, many of which are free. Or use an online service such Odeo. If you want to make your podcasts portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to any mp3 portable media device.
How do I subscribe to a podcast?
You may subscribe to many podcasts by clicking the buttons for popular tools like iTunes and My Yahoo! If you don't see a button for your preferred tool, simply highlight the URL in the box next to the orange [POD] icon. Right-click this link (or Control-click in MacOS) and select "Copy" or "Copy Shortcut." You may then paste the link into your podcasting software. In iTunes you can find this option under the "Advanced" menu as "Subscribe to podcast."
This is a new service and we will continue to monitor how well the service is working. To make it work well for you, we need to hear of any problems you might be experiencing. Please e-mail us with problems or questions. Click here to e-mail us.
Don't wish to use podcasts? Other audio files are available.
We also have downloadable Mp3 files. We use a downloading service that is totally free. Go to our Planning Board Recordings page.
