Damascus Master Plan Update Community Meeting
To Discuss Draft Purpose and Outreach Report

The Montgomery County Department of Park and Planning seeks input from members of the Damascus Community to understand the community perspective on the environment, zoning, transportation and community facilities.

This community forum is an excellent opportunity for individuals, as well as civic and business groups to identify issues, ideas, and community outreach strategies for consideration in the upcoming master plan process.

Open Houses Set for Bethesda and Silver Spring

Maryland's Mass Transit Administration continues to plan for the first segment of the proposed "Purple Line" light rail transit from Bethesda to Silver Spring, and it is seeking your input at the open houses listed above. You'll have an opportunity to:

· Talk with project team members.
· View designs for train and trail crossings of Rock Creek Park, the CSX Mainline and road intersections.
· Review station design concepts and locations.
· View features of the permanent hiker/biker trail and design alternatives for the Purple Line.
· Comment on identified historic resources in the project area.

Olney Master Plan Open House

The Montgomery County Department of Park and Planning will hold an open house for interested citizens to review and discuss the proposed staff recommendations for the Olney Master Plan Update. There will be no formal presentation. Instead, staff will be available at individual stations on land use and zoning, transportation, environment, parks and recreation, and the town center to discuss draft master plan recommendations with participants. This will be the last formal opportunity to meet with staff before the Staff Draft of the proposed Master Plan is released in December.
