Ed McMahon holds the Charles Fraser Chair on Sustainable Development at the Urban Land Institute in Washington, DC where he is nationally known as an inspiring and thought provoking speaker and leading authority on topics related to sustainable development, land conservation, urban design, and historic preservation. Ed has an M.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Alabama and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law School.

Topic: “The Dollars and Sense of Place Responsive Design.” Tools and techniques for achieving design excellence in commercial development with a particular focus on the architecture and design of commercial corridors including- chain stores, franchises, and big box retailers.

The Planning Board will hear testimony and consider recommendations for water and sewer category change requests on Thursday, June 7, 2007.
