New "Purple Line" Proposal Thursday, January 30, 2003
Speakers' List is Full - Written Comments Encouraged

   On Thursday, January 30, the Montgomery County Planning Board will hear 2 ½ hours of public testimony on the County Executive's new heavy rail "Purple Line" proposal linking Bethesda and Silver Spring Metrorail Stations via CSX rail lines and the Capital Beltway.

Planning Board Seeks Public Input on
Countywide Park Trails Plan Amendment

The Planning Board will hear public comment on February 6 at 7:30 p.m., regarding how the generalized trail proposals in the Countywide Park Trails Plan are further studied, refined and implemented. The Public Hearing Draft Plan Amendment describes the Trail Corridor Plan process and recommends establishing a Trails Work Program. The Draft Amendment has been prepared in response to community concerns that the trail planning process be clarified.

Draft Amendment to Master Plan of Highways (Transportation

 On Thursday, February 20, the Montgomery County Planning Board will hear testimony on the Public Hearing (Preliminary) Draft Amendment to the Master Plan of Highways (Transportation).  The meeting will be held in the M-NCPPC Auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring.  Anyone wishing to testify during the public hearing should call the Community Relations Office prior to the hearing at 301-495-4600.   In addition, written comments may be sent to:  Derick P.             This draft evaluates and recommends the addition of High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to the Capital Beltway between the American Legion Bridge and the west spur of I-270, and an interchange at the intersection of Randolph Road and Veirs Mill Road.  Free copies of the Public Hearing (Preliminary) Draft Amendment to the Master Plan of Highways (Transportation) will be available after January 20 at the Montgomery Regional Office, Publications and Information section, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring.  Reference copies are also available at public libraries and on the M-NCPPC website at www.montgomeryplanningboard.org/.

PRELIMINARY WATER QUALITY PLAN
for
CABIN BRANCH

The site is bounded by West Old Baltimore Road, Clarksburg Road and I-270 and is comprised of five properties totaling approximately 535.4 acres.  This area, also known as the Clarksburg Triangle, includes about 243 acres within the portion of the Little Seneca Creek Watershed that is a designated Special Protection Area. This proposal is for a mixed use (proposed zoning MXPD, RMX-1/TDR) residential and commercial development.

If you wish to request a public information meeting to review the Preliminary Water Quality Plan, a written request must be received by this office within 15 days of this notice (Notice posted 1 /27 /2003).

The Preliminary Water Quality Plan is available for review at the Department of Permitting Services office during working hours. (7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday)
